Arriving in the age of exascale computers, the efficient use of modern high-performance computing systems has become, more than ever, one of the key challenges in computational science. The shift towards massive parallelism especially poses numerous challenges for the design of numerical algorithms. The need for new algorithmic concepts is particularly urgent in fields that require simulating the evolution of a system starting from a given initial condition. Spectral Deferred Correction (SDC) methods are an iterative solver framework for constructing higher-order temporal integrators for ODEs and PDEs that offer numerous options for parallelization in time.
The key objective of this meeting is to foster exchange on advanced time integrators. This includes not only analytical and numerical analyses but also software and implementations.
